Which systems are used to register food in Dubai?

Dubai Municipality operates the Food Import & Re-export System (FIRS) for consignment control and the Montaji system for product and label registration.

Is Halal certification mandatory?

For meat, poultry and products derived from them, yes, valid Halal certification is required. Other foods follow general label-assessment rules.

Do labels need to be in Arabic?

Yes, bilingual Arabic and English labelling that meets UAE / GSO food-labelling standards is mandatory.

What happens if a product fails assessment?
